


To prove it Carrie stole a brooch from Shana and her other friends and placed the brooch in Hailey’s cell phone pouch. When they were all at Shana’s house Carrie framed Hailey and said that she was stealing. Hailey strongly felt uncomfortable after that conversation with Carrie. Carrie told Hailey that if she was uncomfortable with the border renting a room to help with rent money regarding the whole house, then Hailey can just say he sexually molested her. Carrie being as smart and devious as she is, started to suspect that Hailey thought she lied about the sexual molesting with her stepfather due to what Carrie told Hailey one morning. Hailey figures out Carrie's secret, that she lied about her stepfather and starts acting weird when Carrie wins the trial and her stepfather gets arrested. In this book Shana has a group of friends including: Hailey, Carrie, Jen, Kaity. Her best friend Carrie believe it or not is the antagonist in the book. The main character is the teenage girl and her name is Shana protagonist. Her best friend had begged her to testify and lie because she was worried about being molested. While raising her own three children, Anthony, Rebecca (deceased) and Pamela, she was a foster parent to approximately seventy teenagers.This novel is about a teenage girl that lied in court while testifying about her best friend being sexually molested by her stepfather. Sherrard previously was the executive director of a group home for adolescents. Sherrard currently lives in Miramichi, New Brunswick, with her husband, Brent, who is also an author. Sherrard's 2007 historical novel, Three Million Acres of Flame, is about the 1825 Miramichi Fire, the largest recorded land fire in North American history. Sherrard's picture books include There's a Cow Under my Bed that was illustrated by Canadian Illustrator David Jardine and Miss Wondergem's Dreadfully Dreadful Pie that was illustrated by Canadian Illustrator Wendy J. When living in Lahr, West Germany, in the sixth- grade, her homeroom teacher, Alf Lower, inspired her to become a writer. Sherrard was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Bob and Pauline Russell and raised in Trenton, Ontario and Belleville, Ontario.
